HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN SHOW CURTAINS

It is very easy to make your own show curtains with out the cost of buying them.
If you can sew a hem you can do it.
MATERIALS NEEDED
Look for 45" wide washable fabric and have the store cut 3 pieces for you.
1) Top of the cage 90" long x 45" wide
2) Inside of the cage 108" long x 45" wide
3) Bottom for the table under the cage 56" long x 45" wide
This will fit both size cages 45” and the 54” cage.
The most common cage sizes are 22" x 22" x 45"
Total yd's of material need is71/4 yd's.
Also needed is 7 yd's of pre-gathered lace and matching thread .

The top
1) Hem the cut edges on both ends of the fabric
2) Sew the pre gathered lace along three sides

The inside
1) Hem both cut ends of the fabric
2) If you show with a divided cage this is the time to make a slit for the divider Fold fabric in half across the width of the fabric Cut from one on the selvage edges to 1/2" below the pressed fold Hem the cut edges or use bias tape (this is the hardest part on the entire project because of the point at the top) If you decide to hem the edges you may have to do the point by hand.

The Bottom
1) Hem both cut ends
2) Sew lace on the bottom edge

How to put cage curtains on at the show.
(This is for people new at showing.)
1) Move the cage from the table to the floor
2) Lay table drape on table with the lace hanging over the edge of the table
3) Open the top of the cage
4) Use a twist tie or binder clip to secure the center divider to back of cage for a full cage or to the center front for a divided cage
5) Using the inside cage drape cover both ends and the back of the cage,use binder clips to secure to he top of the cage.
6) Close the top of the cage
7) Lay the top cover over the cage let a few inches hang over the front edge
8) Return cage to the table
